I was thinking about what to bring for my friend's Halloween Party, so I decided to make Halloween theme sushi rolls. It was fun making (crafting) the rolls, and they were very tasty as well :)
Basic materials you need for Sushi Rolls:
• Sushi Rice
• Nori
• Makisu (Bamboo Mat)
• Plastic Wrap (This helps to roll up rice without making huge mess!)
• Neta (Things you want to put inside rolls)
How to make sushi rice:
• Japanese Rice - 3cups (I like using Koshihikari.)
• Rice Vinegar - 6tbs
• Brown Sugar - 3tbs
• Ocean Salt - 1/4tsp
1. Cook Rice
Wash the rice very well before cooking.
2. When the rice is ready, move the rice into a large plate or bowl.
Sprinkle Rice vinegar, Brown Sugar, Ocean Salt over rice and mix the rice with Shamoji by cutting and folding over the rice (make sure the rice doesn't get too smashed.
---
Making sushi rolls are very easy as long as you know how to make the rice right :) Think about what you want to put in your rolls and start rolling, have fun, and go crazy!
