URL: Flavorpill
Flavorpill has been around for a while now, but this is one the best websites/services for getting GOOD resources on what's happening in town for creative events (Art, Design, Music, Film, Fashion... etc). Once you sign up in their mailing list, you get weekly newsletter (pic right) updates in your email for cool events around town... and read more about them. They have services for New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, London, Miami. If you don't want to sign up to get mail magazine, you can just check online :) But, they send out very nice useful mail magazine (they do it right), so it's not annoying at all.
Since I live in LA, I subscribe to LA flavorpill :) And they are great!! I wonder how it is for other cities... but I'm sure they are great!
If anyone come to visit Los Angeles, I would recommend checking Flavorpill for unique local events for sure!

Portland? I've been waiting for TORONTO for 3 years now! There was a long piece in the new york times a few weeks ago about flavorpill. They did mention opening a lot of new cities, but i don't think portland was one.
