[ECO-FRIENDLY] Grocery Bags

GroceryBags.jpg
SHOP@: Whole Foods | Trader Joe's

By bringing your own bags to either Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, save 5 cents per bag at Whole Foods every time you shop and/or win groceries at Trader Joe's!

I'm always happy when I discover places where they take a step to try and make difference to encourage people to become ecologically friendly without being forceful! So, I bought a bag from Whole Foods ($1.99) and a bag from Trader Joe's ($2.99) to support them, but you don't even have to buy their bags to participate for the savings as long as you bring your own bags (any bags)!!

In Japan, my family mostly shops at CO-OP for their groceries. CO-OP is more of an ecologically friendly grocery (health food) store in Japan. Since CO-OP charges a few yen for their plastic grocery bags, we always brought our own bags into the store. I didn't really like the fact that they charged for their bags, but it really forced my family and others to not forget to bring their own bags for shopping. After awhile, it just became more of a normal habit to bring your own bags for shopping! (And their products are usually little cheaper and healthier than other regular grocery stores). So, being eco-friendly benefits both the environment and us! And I've always liked the idea of bringing your own bags to the market.

So, when I started noticing Whole Foods and Trader Joe's encouraging people to bring their own bags, I had to participate!! It's a wonderful feeling to be eco-friendly and also saving at the same time!
