Orochon Ramen is located on the third floor of small shopping mall right by hotel New Otani in Little Tokyo. This place has been on my list of "MUST TRY RAMEN SHOPS in LA" for a while since many people seems to like it and has a good review!

Orochon Ramen is famous for their Spicy Ramen since you can order from Non-Spicy to Super Spicy Hot Ramen. They have up to 9 scales of spiciness. And... I believe (my memory is not so clear... but) if you order their "SPECIAL 2 - with disclaimer saying eat at your own risk!!!" and finish the ramen in 20min (or was it 30min??), then you win something and get your photo taken for display at the restaurant. It must be very very very spicy!! ...maybe someday we'll try for fun :P Anyway! Since we just wanted to enjoy the ramen this time, we just ordered their regular Orochon which is some what spicy but not extreme in any way.

Before you choose your spicy level, you have to choose your broth between Miso, Soy, or Salt. The name "Orochon" came from Ainu language, so we started thinking the style of this ramen might be closest to Hokkaido Ramen which is famous for their Miso Ramen. So, we all decided to order miso and added Cha-Shu Pork Slice. Paul ordered egg topping... But, we don't recommend their egg. It was just normal hard boild egg and not Aji-tama (the tasty kind you normaly get at ramen places).

Our Ramen arrived... Yumm :9
We were pretty hungry then, so we were so happy when we saw how big each bowl was and was filled with lots of noodle :O Their broth was pretty good as well. The spiciness definitely makes the broth taste better and gives more flavor. More vegetable would have been nice though... I still miss real good ramen in Japan.
