A Day in Tokyo

nezu2007.jpg

We had some time, so we decided to go out to Tokyo.
Our first stop was Nezu Jinja (Shrine). Ever since I've known Paul, he has always talked about this place since it was right by the very first place he had stayed in Japan back in 1997. It is a very small shrine compare to some other shrines in Japan, and it seems to blend right in with local's life style and history. It felt very cozy :)

After visiting the main Nezu shrine, we took a walk all around the park. And we met this cat "NEZU" strolling right along the side of this old man. NEZU was like a little dog, he listened and followed his master wherever he went. Very Cute!

Above is a picture of our lunch at Freshness Burger. Freshness Burger is one of my favorite burger shops in Japan, and I've always wanted to have Paul try :) Paul ordered Classic Double Double Burger, and it sure was tasty and the size was American (standard) size! The guy at the store said "Biggest Burger in Japan!" Hehehe...

Actually, the reason why I like Freshness Burger is not for their burgers, it's the variety of drinks they offer. They not only serve very good cafe latte (and variety of different lattes) but also they serve fresh yuzu tea and soda. I wish I took some pictures... but they are good!! I'm the type of person getting my burger at IN-N-OUT and getting my drinks at coffee shops. So, Freshness Burger makes me happy both ways :P And you should see the interior design of this place. It doesn't make you feel like you are having fast food at all. (pics on flickr)

After that, we went to a couple of different places.
Since it was in the middle of the New Year holiday, many places were closed except shrine, temple, and/or big malls for the New Year sales. So, we decided to check out recently opened Omotesando Hills. By then, we were too tired to walk around, so we decided to sit down to have a cup of tea at Toraya Cafe. It was a cool cafe, but I missed having tea at my favorite tea places in Tokyo... I prefer having Japanese or Chinese tea at much smaller, hidden, and intimate places, but all of them were closed for the holiday :(

Anyway! After that, we headed to our final destination Roppongi Hills to have my favorite Shouronpo at The Nanxiang Steamed Bun! Yummy...
