Enjoy First Fridays at Natural History Museum with cool live music & drinks while surrounded by dinosaur bones and animal dioramas!
We saw PLAID and The Submarines this past Friday. It was surprisingly pretty mellow, and I was able to get so close to the stage for both sets.

The Submarines were so cute!!! I've heard their songs before, but I didn't really know much of them. Very cool ...and the performance by PLAID with visual video artist Bob Jaroc was awesome. The video was mixed live with the music, and it was fun and impressive to watch. (It made a huge difference being able to be so close to the stage)
We've been wanting to go check out their First Fridays since last year because they always seem to host cool music artists for this event...and how cool is it to be able to walk around the museum in this style, with music & alcohol. We love going to the Natural History Museum anyway. They keep the museum up very nicely, and we love checking out all the OLD dioramas... To me... they all seem somewhat creepy which creates an interesting awkward atmosphere, yet they are fascinating to watch. It seems and feels wrong... just the idea of preserving and recreating the perfect moments of the life form. You should see all the detail that goes into the each display with amazing painted backgrounds... each of them are an amazing work of art in itself. Anyway!
If you are a member of the Natural History Museum, these events are free to get in! So, we decided to become a member since we also wanted to support the museum :)
