One of the coolest movie theaters in Los Angeles!
"The New Beverly Cinema has been in business continuously since May 5, 1978. When it opened, revival theatres were quite common in the U.S. and other parts of the world. Today, the New Beverly is one of the very last full-time double bill revival houses left in the entire U.S"
Between March 4th to May 1st, 2007,
QUENTIN TARANTINO presents THE LOS ANGELES GRINDHOUSE FESTIVAL 2007 at New Beverly Cinema!
All films are presented in 35mm prints, and they are from Quentin Tarantino's personal collection (all personally selected by him)!

We just went and saw The Blood Spattered Bride (1972), Asylum of Blood
(1971) - aka. Slaughter Hotel, and Mary Mary Bloody Mary
(1975)... All pretty bloody wacky weird movies Paul has always been into... and I started appreciating because of him :D
I especially love the silliness and stupidity of these films, but all of them have good artistic elements to the film which seems to lack in most of the modern Hollywood films these days... and some (not all) of these films are surprisingly done very well.
We would like to catch more films there especially during the GRINDHOUSE FESTIVAL!

Great horror triple bill... we loved all three films, but I would say that BLOOD SPATTERED BRIDE still tops these three. SLAUGHTER HOTEL had its fair share of gratuitous nudity and was by far the weirdest of the three films. MARY, MARY, BLOODY MARY was the most tame film of the bunch, but it was still quite interesting, especially seeing a young CHRISTINA FERRARE. Hopefully we can see a few more during the festival!
