The entire name of this restaurant is called "Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki", and I believe that the restaurant is co-owned by 2 different chefs. Bistro Miyoda (Mr. Miyoda) specializes in Japanese style Chinese dishes, and Sushi Ichiriki (Owner Peter) specializes in authentic Japanese sushi. I wrote a review on their Sushi bar (which is awesome and one of my favorite sushi places in LA) before, but I wanted to come back and write a separate review on their RAMEN from Bistro Miyoda kitchen.

One of my favorites from Bistro Miyoda's kitchen is his variety of different ramen noodles. Mr. Miyoda makes his own noodle at the restaurant. You can definitely tell it's handmade if you've had other ramen from different places. I like the thickness of his noodles and I especially like it since the noodles are made without Kansui (or close to none Kansui). I haven't found any other ramen places where they serve none Kansui noodles in Los Angeles. So, that is a big plus! And I'm so happy that they are so close to our home.

Paul and I tried a couple of different ramen from here, and our favorite ramen is now their Vegetable Ramen. It is a salt based (Shio) ramen - some what garlicky and peppery which we both love!! And it comes with amazing amount of vegetables!! Yummy and Healthy :) It's perfect for a cold day. And his gyoza is awesome too! (Of course handmade) And served with special mixture of gyoza sauce.

Good ramen, Gyoza, and Beer! That is a true happiness :D
I sound like an old Japanese salary man.... hehehe

When Paul and I go to Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki, we either go to eat at "Bistro Miyoda" or "Ichiriki". We feel like they are 2 separate restaurants (or at least we like looking at it that way) even though it's probably not truly their intention...

When I hear about a restaurant serving wide variety of different food (For example, a place combining American Food mixed with Asian Fusion - a twist of Japanese, Chinese and/or Thai Food all together), I wouldn't necessary expect something spectacular or amazing from the place. Mainly because it seems like they don't really have a focus on the type of food they want to offer. And usually turns out to be just average. But Bistro Miyoda & Sushi Ichiriki is different. Both kitchen truly offers great food, and we love this place so much :)
