We went to Palm Desert for both Paul & Poppa's birthdays over the weekend. One of the things we decided to do was to go to the Living Desert. "The Living Desert is one of the most successful zoological parks in the country and offers visitors the most complete introduction to the natural desert."
It was raining a lot on the way up there in the morning, but it turned out to be a very nice weather :)
The living desert was a nice relaxing place to visit. We saw many rattle snakes, turtles, gecko... etc in the dark room. Then, there were giraffes, camels, wild cats, cheetahs, wild dogs, many birds, and more. Most of them were moving around and being active and looked pretty relaxed and well adopted to the desert environment. At the petting zoo, we were able to pet goats and sheep. One of the goats liked to stand on top of the wooden pole to get to the higher ground. He was so well balanced :) He looked so proud like a super hero ;)
One of the areas I enjoyed taking pictures of the most were these miniature town for LGB Model Train Display which was under maintenance and closed until September 30th. They looked very much old school and cool :P
