A must check article and interactive gallery of Al Jaffee's fold-ins for Mad magazine on New York Times :) Mr. Jaffee has been working on the Mad Magazine's Fold-Ins since the 1960s to the present (He is 87 years old now). The master artist illustrates everything by hand (no computer!!) and surprisingly never folds his art!!

“I’m working on a hard, flat board,” he said. “I cannot fold it. That’s why my planning has to be so correct.”

Here are some pictures of his fold-ins... but if you visit their online interactive gallery, you can experience folding them yourself on the screen :) It's amazing... Even the sentences make out a new meaning when folded.

All the fold-ins are filled with wit and clever sarcasm. My husband who has been a reader, collector, and a big fan of Mad Magazine since his childhood shares the same sensibilities.

The special article on the artist Al Jaffee was very touching and cool. Thanks for sharing the link with me Paul :-)
And I also hope that there will be a lot more of Al Jaffee's fold-ins to come! Mad Magazine wouldn't be the same without him.
