I went to the LA biz ladies meet up by Design*Sponge at Design Within Reach on Beverly Blvd last night! Thanks Judy for the awesome information as always!! It was so inspiring to be there... and Grace was amazing and all the great speakers were full of good information... Great Great Great wonderful night! There must have been over 200 people (ladies) at DWR. It was tough to find a parking spot (took us about 20 minutes to park), but every minute there was worth the effort!
My favorite speaker was of course Grace! She went over the tips for Public Relations for the Independent Designer. She was very organized and straight to the point. It was reassuring to hear everything she had to say about how to make contact with the press person, things to remember, and she also had good points about really knowing your products. Everything she mentioned can be downloaded from here! It is all very good information to have in your hands.
Meeting the artist Tanya Aguiñiga was neat. It's always interesting and inspiring to hear the background of the artist... and what it took to be where she is at now.
Tanya Aguiñiga is a Los Angeles-based furniture designer/maker raised in Tijuana, Mexico. Above are some pictures of her products. She also makes accessories, and the felt necklace she was wearing last night was very beautiful as well. (I'm assuming it was her creation!)
There are so many things I want to do!!!
I really need to put my stuff together and really work towards my goal... :-) It was very inspiring to be there... And I had fun hanging out and meeting with all the cool girls in town!

Tanya's necklace was very cool...I was fixated on it while she was speaking.

All the pictures on your post were very nice, and I didn't know that Kit Pistol from Project Runway was there! That is cool!
