KUSAMA: Princess of Polka Dots
RELATED LINKS: Yayoi Kusama | YouTube
I have recently come to find out about this documentary film about a Japanese avant-garde artist, Yayoi Kusama called "KUSAMA: Princess of Polka Dots" directed by Heather Lenz.
Yayoi Kusama started painting using polka dots around the age of ten, and she is now in her late 70s... still producing art and obsessed with polka dots :)

This documentary film is still work-in-progress, and Royal-T is hosting a fundraiser event for the documentary film this Sunday.
Sunday, Oct 19th @ Royal/T
2pm - 5pm
Event will include: Tea & cookies, a screening of the trailer, a silent auction of objects including 60s photos of Kusama.
Encouraged Dress Code: colorful"Kusama wigns" and polka dots!
No PSVP is necessary.
And the director will be there in person to talk about the process of making the film. There is also going to be a psychiatrist/art collector to talk about the link between creativity and mental illness around 3:15pm.
Here is a clip of the trailer I found on YouTube.
I would love to see this movie complete.
Her life story sounds not only interesting... but very much inspiring.
