When I first saw Sori Yanagi's cast iron sauce pan at a small Japanese boutique stand at Manhattan Village Mall called Uzu in person, I fell in love with Sori Yanagi. And I've been discovering more of his products, and I'm always amazed and surprised with his genius design and sensitivity for usability. It's rare that product itself makes you think and smile.

A must check article and interactive gallery of Al Jaffee's fold-ins for Mad magazine on New York Times :) Mr. Jaffee has been working on the Mad Magazine's Fold-Ins since the 1960s to the present (He is 87 years old now). The master artist illustrates everything by hand (no computer!!) and surprisingly never folds his art!!

Odopod is a small design studio in San Francisco.
I recently discovered a section of their website where you can sketch/draw anything onto their browser. Once you sign in, you get a blank canvas (vintage rice paper feel), 23 colored pencils (thin to thick), eraser, and white out. The drawing capability is pretty amazing (Above are sketches Paul & I did on their website)!

Cute make-it-yourself toys by Readymech :D
You can download their free PDFs, print on your thick 8.5" x 11" paper, and build them yourself for fun! I was thinking... they might even make a cute gift packaging to give out some candies, small accessories, or perhaps even gift certificates?? (Not sure if a gift certificate card would fit though... Hmmm...)

These artistic bags are almost stylish enough to wear to any place, and they cost only about $1 and the profit goes to charity :O These are just really cool both ways!! What a beautiful idea...

Fafi - The Female French Graffiti Artist
I first became aware of Fafi when she released Artist Gacha-Gacha capsule toy series in Japan along with some other artists around the world back in 2003. At first, I didn't like her figures that much (I liked her drawing/painting style though)... but her figures started to grow on me every time I saw them. I was reading this guys blog this morning, and he wrote that he had to move the figures off his desk because they kept flirting with him!! I was laughing so hard!! But, I think fafi's figures seriously had the same effect on me!!
